How to Accelerate Growth on Amazon

Amazon is a fantastic location to sell products, grow brand awareness, and see large returns on ad spend.

If you’ve been selling on Amazon as a brand for some time, you’ve seen the ups and downs. The most difficult part of being an Amazon seller or brand is getting to the next level of sales and scaling your Amazon business. You have excellent photography and videography, on-brand copy, and all of your ducks in a row, but need to become a top seller on Amazon.

  1. Brand Registry: A+ Content Description, A+ Content Video, A/B Title Tests, A/B A+ Content Description Tests
    • Brand Registry
      • Secure a trademark for your brand name and apply for Brand Registry on Amazon. It protects your listings and unlocks a new level of customer experience for your products
    • A+ Content Description
      • Add an engaging section of your product detail page focused on your brand, upselling your other products, and sharing what differentiates your product from others. This increases conversion rate of the product by 3-7%.
    • A+ Content Video
      • Add a video that explains the brand, your product line, and the value add of the product that goes on the product detail page. This increases conversion rate of the product by 1-3%.
    • A/B Title Tests
      • Run an Amazon Experiment around two different title variations. You’ll find that a small change can raise conversion rate by over 1%.
    • A/B A+ Content Description Tests
      • Run an Amazon Experiment around two different A+ Content description variations. You’ll find that a small change can raise conversion rate by over 1%.
  2. Advertising: Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, Demand-Side Platform
    • Sponsored Products
      • This is an advertising technique focused on targeting keywords chosen of your choice or by Amazon’s choice, categories, and competitor ASINs on the product detail page. These push to a product page.
      • Make sure to try out each type of keyword targeting: broad, phrase, and exact.
    • Sponsored Brands
      • This is an advertising technique focused on targeting keywords of your choice, categories, competitor ASINs on the product detail page, showing custom images, auto-playing videos, and having custom headlines. These push to a product page, a storefront or a collection of products.
      • Make sure to try out each type of keyword targeting: broad, phrase, and exact.
      • Make sure to try video ads as they have a wonderfully-low ACoS
    • Sponsored Display
      • This is an advertising technique focused on targeting categories, ASINs on the product detail page, remarketing to your products’ visitors on and off of Amazon, and having custom headlines.
    • Demand-Side Platform
      • Minimum $5K/month spend to Grow Brand Awareness or remarket to past customers
      • This is an incredibly powerful tool that can help you acquire top-of-funnel customers
  3. Competitor Research: Keeping up with current trends
    • Their Copy
      • Look at competitor’s titles, bullet points, and descriptions. Find what they’re targeting in their copy that you are missing.
    • Their Paid Keyword Rankings
      • Look at the paid keyword rankings of competitors to see what keywords they are targeting!
    • Their Photo Assets
      • Look at their photo assets to see what you can learn from their styling
    • Their Video Assets
      • Look at their video assets to see what you can learn from their styling
